The arts scene will be in full swing starting this week.

River Falls CAB 

The Community Arts Base has a busy week. On Thursday, Music in the Park will feature P.K. Mayo in concert 7-9 p.m. at Veterans Park, Main and Elm streets. Twin Cities guitarist Paul Mayasich goes by Mayo in the blues world.

Then on Saturday, Art’s House celebrates the reopening 1-3 p.m. at 127 North Main St. Feature art and artists this month include paintings by David Markson, creations by LeslieAnne VanHouter and jewelry by Jill Fritz.

Learn in the great outdoors

Friends of the Willow River State Park will host an event to learn about fungi at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at the nature center. 

Participants will learn how to look for edible fungi and when and how to pick them. 

Carpenter Nature Center will host a bird hike at its Hudson campus on East Cove Road. The hike will last from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 12. 

Participants will hike various trails as they learn to identify birds from local St. Croix Valley Bird Club experts. Call 651-437-4359 if attending. Face masks are requested during check-in and when participants are closer than 6 feet. Fee is $5 per participant. 

Kids, nature and yoga

The Nature Kids Yoga series begins Thursday, June 10, in Glen Park. 

Inspiring Actions LLC - River Falls will teach children ages 5 to 10 yoga postures for fun, power, flexibility and relaxation while meeting the wonder of nature. Please bring a mat or blanket, water bottle and a sense of curiosity.

Sessions are 10-10:45 a.m. Thursdays through July 1Class sizes will grow as health restrictions ease.

River Falls Farmers Market

June produce is starting to appear at the River Falls Farmers Market held in front of Dick’s Fresh Market from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays. 

Taste of Glenna Farms

Glenna Farms will offer a wine and beer tasting and cheese and gourmet food sampling from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. 

The event is a kickoff to the summer entertaining season. 

Glenna Farms is located at 1333 120th St., Amery.
