Wildcat senior wrestlers Garnett Ripley, left, Nathan Fuller and Josie Bartishofski are all smiles Wednesday, May 22, at the high school after Ripley and Fuller signed their collegiate letters of intent after Bartishofski signed hers on May 14. Ripley was a regional champion at 220 pounds this season and will be continuing his wrestling career at Minot State (N.D.) University while Fuller won the 152-pound state title and has committed to the University of Minnesota. Bartishofski was the first female wrestler in the state to win a Division 1 regional title at 106-pounds and will be heading to Jamestown University in North Dakota. The three helped the Wildcats win their first Big Rivers Conference title since 2006 and win the WIAA regional title to qualify for their first team sectional since 2001. Bob Burrows

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis. A native of Bayonne, N.J. and a U.S. Navy veteran, Burrows attended Marquette University before completing his studies at UW-River Falls in 1992.
