Three Games to Watch

Volleyball: River Falls vs. Stillwater

The Wildcats will host their first home match since making their fifth straight state tournament appearance at the end of the abbreviated 2020 season. River Falls was state runner-up in 2017 and reached the state semifinals in both 2018 and 2019.

Details: Tuesday, Aug. 31, 7 p.m., River Falls High School

Football: River Falls vs. Tomah

The Wildcats begin their first, and only, season of Mississippi Valley Conference play when they host the Timberwolves. River Falls will return to the Big Rivers Conference for the 2022 season

Details: Friday, Sept. 3, 7 p.m., David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field

Football: UW-River Falls vs. Elmhurst University

It will be the first football game in 659 days for UW-River Falls when they host Emhurst in a nonconference matinee. The Falcons’ last game was a 31-24 victory at UW-Platteville Nov. 16, 2019. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
