Josh Linton's goal off a corner kick five minutes in was the only goal of the match as the Wildcat boys' soccer team handed Hudson it's first Big Rivers Conference loss of the season, 1-0, Thursday night, Oct. 11, in Hudson.

Linton got just enough of his head on a corner kick to redirect the ball off a Hudson defender and into the net for the only goal of the match while the Wildcat defense and goalkeeper Ben Matheson did the rest to record the Cat's sixth shutout of the season.

The win evened River Falls record at 5-5-1 in BRC play and moved them to 9-7-2 heading into the regular season finale against Eau Claire North Friday, Oct. 12.

Hudson, who clinched the Big Rivers Conference title earlier in the week with a 2-0 victory over Chippewa Falls, finished the regular season 10-1-1 in BRC play, 12-8-1 overall. It was the Wildcat's first win over the Raiders since 2011.

The WIAA seeding meeting for the playoffs will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, with first round regional games scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16, Hudson will compete in Division 1 of the WIAA playoffs while River Falls will drop down to Division 2.
