The River Falls Dance Team competed virtually in the 2021 Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches Association (WACPC) State Competition as the Western Regional Division 1 champions in Hip Hop.
It was the third year in a row River Falls qualified for the state dance team competition and the second straight year in Hip Hop and Jazz, moving up from Division 2 to Division 1 this season.
Coach Megan Franklin said the team also submitted seven virtual solos and one duet.
“There were more than twice as many entries this year so the competition was fierce,” she said.
Kaelyn Tape earned Division 1 First Team All-State and Keira Anderson and Kadence Zielski both made Division 1 Second Team All-State, while Grace Vivoda-Sadée and Avery Maher tied for ninth place out of over 30 competitors with their duet.
“We couldn’t be more proud of every single girl on the team this year,” Franklin said. “They all worked extremely hard and navigated the season with grace, even in the face of all the challenges and changes we faced this year due to COVID.”
