The sport of cheerleading has continued to grow at a rapid pace in River Falls with teams now at the youth through college levels. The middle school, high school and college teams recently wrapped up their competition seasons. Competition level teams perform a 2 minute, 30 second routine in front of a panel of judges. Much like figure skating or gymnastics, scores are based on degree of difficulty and execution of motions, jumps, tumbling and stunts.

This year's middle school team recently completed their first ever competition season. They traveled to D.C. Everest and Eau Claire. They brought home second place in their respective division at Eau Claire.

After competing at Eau Claire and Green Bay, members of the high school team wrapped up their season at the state championship where they advanced to finals and took fourth place with their stunt routine. UWRF cheer also completed their first competition season, finishing second in their division at state.

For more information about the cheer programs, visit their respective Facebook pages. Tryouts for next year's high school and college teams will be held in April.
