Mother Nature wipes out River Falls’ baseball, softball openers

The River Falls baseball and softball teams will have to wait a little longer to open up their respective 2021 seasons.

The Wildcat baseball team’s game scheduled at Chippewa Falls, and the Cats’ softball opener at Hudson scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, were both postponed due to rain.

The good news is that both teams will now open their seasons at home with doubleheaders Thursday, April 29. The Wildcat baseball team will host Chippewa Falls for a pair of games at 4 p.m. at First National Bank of River Falls Field while the softball team will host a twinbill with Hudson at 4 p.m. at the high school.

The Wildcat baseball team will travel to La Crosse to face Caledonia on Friday, April 30, at 5 p.m. while the Cat’s softball team will play its first game at First National Bank of River Falls Field against New Richmond Friday night at 7 p.m.
