Three games to watch this week

Baseball-- River Falls vs. Chippewa Falls, 4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 29, First National Bank of River Falls Field

River Falls is the defending Big Rivers Conference champion and will finally get to play on the artificial turf of First National Bank of River Falls Field when they host the Cardinals in their 2021 home opener. The new turf was installed at the field in the fall of 2019 but went unused during the high school season last year due to the pandemic.

Softball-- River Falls vs. New Richmond, 7 p.m., Friday, April 30, First National Bank of River Falls Field

River Falls and New Richmond square off in the first softball game under the lights on the artificial turf at First National Bank of River Falls Field. It will also be the first time the two teams meet as as nonconference opponents before the Tigers move into the Big Rivers Conference for the 2022 season.

Track and Field-- Hudson Triangular, 4 p.m. Friday, April 30, Hudson Raider Stadium

Hudson welcomes River Falls and Eau Claire North to town for the first track and field meet of the season. Hudson’s girls’ team and the River Falls boys enter the meet as defending conference champions.
