Boys Golf: Cats fourth at home match

Maxamillian Xiong finished one stroke away from medalist honors with a two-over par 38 to lead the Wildcat boys’ golf team to a fourth place finish at a 9-hole Big Rivers Conference match at the River Falls Golf Club Thursday, April 25.

Hudson finished first with a team score of 168 and Eau Claire Memorial was second with 171 while Rice Lake was third with 172 and River Falls fourth with 178. Chippewa Falls was a distant fifth with 190 and Menomonie had 197 while Eau Claire North finished with 229.

Xiong’s 38 was good enough for third place in the individual standings while teammate Taylor Thompson tied for seventh with 44. Taylor Rotsaert, Justin Graetz and Braedon Harer each shot 48 to round out the Wildcat lineup.

Billy Peterson of Eau Claire Memorial and Simon Cuskey of Rice Lake each shot 37 to share medalist honors.
