RF golfers 15th at state

Jaxon Knotek and Max Morrow each shaved a stroke off their first day scores but the Wildcat boys' golf team added seven strokes as a team to finish in 15th place at the two-day WIAA Boys State Golf Championships in Madison June 4-5.

The Cats put together a two-day total of 665 (325-332) to finish in 15th place, 57 strokes behind Division 1 champion Marquette University School.

Knotek posted scores of 80 and 79 to finish tied for 50th place with a total of 159, while Maxamillian Xiong, who shot a team-low 76 in Monday's opening round, followed that up with an 84 tied for 53rd at 160.

Morrow posted scores of 84-83 for a total of 167 and Taylor Rotsaert went 85-86 for 171 while Taylor Thompson shot 84 and 90 for a total of 174.

Adam Garski of Wauwatosa East/West claimed the individual title by shooting 71 both days to finish with 142.
