Boys Basketball: Wildcats pull away from TIgers

River Falls closed the game with a 7-0 run over the final three minutes to post a 53-46 nonconference win over New Richmond in nonconference boys' basketball action Tuesday, Dec. 18, in New Richmond.

New Richmond held a two-point lead, 30-28, at the break and the score was tied 46-46 with three minutes remaining before the Cats outscored the Tigers 7-0 the rest of the way.

Sophomore Zac Johnson led the Wildcats with 19 points and came up with four steals while classmate JT Dougherty finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Senior point guard Adam Feyereisen contributed 10 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the victory.

River Falls improved to 5-1 while the Tigers dipped to 3-3. Next up for the Wildcats is another nonconference game against Holmen (3-3) in the first game of a high school doubleheader at Page Arena Thursday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m.at 5:45 p.m. The Wildcat girls will take on La Crosse Central at 7:30 p.m.
