From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, the River Falls Wildcats dance team will host the inaugural Wildcat Invitational dance competition at River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road). They expect to see about 600 dancers from 15 area teams, solos and ensembles.

"What people don't realize is that dance is a sport that is 10 months out of the year," Jenny Scott said. "It challenges their strength, stamina, flexibility and balance. It also builds their self confidence."

Divisions will include varsity, JV, middle school, elementary school, and high school all star/studios with the following categories: jazz, kick, pom, hip hop, solos and ensembles.
