Wellhaven column: Memory Cafe finds a new home at Wellhaven
It's a new year with new opportunities and a good time for change. Wellhaven Senior Living, along with the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Pierce and St. Croix counties, is taking advantage of this opportunity to move the River Falls Memory Café to a new location.
Starting Jan. 31, Memory Café will be held at Wellhaven Senior Living, 119 Union St. in River Falls. Organizers hope the location change will encourage those with memory loss and their caregivers to attend the program.
"Memory café is a safe, comfortable and engaging environment for those with memory loss and their caregivers. It's a place where guests can laugh, learn and remain socially engaged with others traveling the same journey," explains Nancy Abrahamson, St. Croix County ADRC dementia specialist.
Guests will be offered light refreshments, have a chance to visit others, listen to a guest speaker and have access to resources needed.
All are welcome to attend Memory Café held at 10 a.m. on the last Tuesday of each month at
Wellhaven. For more information, contact Laura at 715-426-4646 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
