Strop, Reardon honored by BRC

Wildcat sophomore Kylie Strop and junior Bailey Reardon have been named to 2017-18 All-Big Rivers Conference Girls Basketball teams by the conference coaches.

Strop was named to the five-player All-BRC Second Team while Reardon was one of seven players to receive Honorable Mention. It's the second BRC honor for Strop and the third for Reardon.

Stop led the Wildcats in scoring this season with an average of 17.5 points per game while posting team highs of 67 total assists and 50 steals in 24 games. She also pulled down 6 rebounds per game, second on the team, from her guard position.

Reardon averaged 12.5 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game this season while finishing first on the team in blocked shots with 30, and recording 31 steals.

First team selections by the conference coaches included Player of the Year Brooke Olson of Rice Lake, Jada Biermeier of Eau Claire Memorial, Shayla Wallin of Hudson and Caelan Givens of Chippewa Falls.

Joining Strop on the second team were Brooke Becker of Eau Claire North, Ty Huber of Hudson, Kylie Mogen of Menomonie and Alexis Zenner of Chippewa Falls.

The Wildcats finished the 2017-18 season 8-16 overall, 2-10 in BRC play. Hudson and Chippewa Falls shared the conference title at 10-2 each.

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis.
