The Cats went on to defeat Menomonie, 4-0, in their final regular season game two days later to give the Cats a record of 6-10-2 overall, 4-7-1 in Big Rivers Conference play heading into the postseason. River Falls earned the No. 3 seed in their WIAA Division 2 sectional and will host sixth-seeded Marshfield in a regional semifinal Thursday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field. Bob Burrows

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis. A native of Bayonne, N.J. and a U.S. Navy veteran, Burrows attended Marquette University before completing his studies at UW-River Falls in 1992.
