Eli Condon struck out 13 Eau Claire North batters and River Falls scored six runs in the top of the third inning to post a 7-0 Big Rivers Conference victory over the Huskies Tuesday at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
Condon scattered five hits and didn’t walk a batter and Brooks Rivard drove in three runs as the Wildcats remained one game back of BRC co-leaders Hudson and Chippewa Falls at 7-2.
Rivard drove in the Wildcats’ first run of the game in the second inning and had a two-run single in the Cats’ six-run third. Cayden Mueller, Austin Curti, Henry Zimmerman and Elijah Baker also drove in a run each in the inning as the Cats sent 10 batters to the plate. Rivard and Mueller finished with two hits each in the victory.
The two teams will meet again Thursday at 5 p.m. at First National Bank of River Falls Field.
