A 47-year-old female was found dead by apparent gunshot on early Monday, April 24, shortly after midnight, according to a news release from the River Falls Police Department.
Assisted by St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement responded to the 500 block of Bandle Street, regarding an unconscious person.
There is no current threat to the community, according to the release.
This is an active investigation into the cause of death. Limited information is available to be released at this time.
UPDATE:
The victim has been identified as Amy Cathleen Theis of River Falls.
A suspect has been taken into custody and a request for charges from the St. Croix County District Attorney’s Office is expected within the next two days.
