At a special meeting held on June 28, the school board appointed candidate Lindsey Curtis to the open seat on the River Falls School Board

The board received applications and letters of reference from five members of the community and conducted interviews with all five candidates. The board held each candidate in high regard and determined that all five candidates would make important contributions to the school board’s work. After considerable discussion and several votes, the school board decided to appoint Curtis to the open seat.

Curtis is a parent and volunteer at Westside Elementary School, has a background as a teacher and administrator in elementary education and is currently a stay-at-home mother raising four young children.

She demonstrated considerable knowledge of educational issues and an understanding of the school district. Curtis has been present for school board and committee meetings for many months. When she begins her school board service she will be a member of the Educational Program Committee and will serve through the April 2022 election.

The school board looks forward to welcoming Curtis and is eager to work with her. The board also recognizes and thanks the four other people who courageously and graciously put their names forward to be considered for the open position.

The School District of River Falls and the River Falls community has much to be proud of that so many well-qualified citizens stepped forward to serve.
