Hove remains Pierce Co. sheriff; Vinehout holds off Pittman

Pierce County incumbent Sheriff Nancy Hove has defeated challenger Bill Parks.

With all voting units reporting, unofficial results show Democrat Hove earned 9,059 votes to 5,427 for Republican Parks, a 20-year military veteran. Hove’s third term as sheriff will begin Jan. 1.

In other races that involve Pierce County:

--Districtwide, with all units reporting in the 31st State Senate District, Democratic incumbent Kathleen Vinehout defeated Republican challenger Mel Pittman, 35,477 to 32,477.

--In Wisconsin’s Third District in the U.S. Congress, incumbent Democrat Ron Kind defeated challenger Republican Tony Kurtz by 154,600 to 118,124.

--In State Assembly District 93, Republican incumbent Warren Petryk outpolled Democratic challenger Jeff Smith, 13,934 to 10,739.
