Vets in the Classroom educate at RFHS
Vets in the Classroom is a VFW program where four or five veterans are invited to a school's English or literature class to speak on their experiences of being drafted and serving in a war. Most of the time the students are reading about the Vietnam or Iraq wars. It is firsthand talking face-to-face with students. At the end is a question and answer period.
"We have been doing this for five years and it is going over well," said Pierce County VFW Post 9060 Commander Roger Klegin. "River Falls High is where we go to a lot. We are all Vietnam vets"
Recently, members of Pierce County VFW Post 9060 presented to Kim Craig's junior literature class at River Falls High School, where they spoke about their experiences in Vietnam.
