Hastings City Hall

The Hastings City Council made their bid selection for the HVAC repairs needed in City Hall, awarding a $588,000 contract to Burnn Boiler and Mechanical LLC at their last meeting.

The project entails replacing the boilers and modifying the air handlers to lower humidity levels in the building. Four bids for the contract were received, with Burnn Boiler and Mechaniucal LLC winning out as the cheapest option.

There was a lower bid from Cool Air Mech for $545,000, but it was disqualified at the recommendation of the City Attorney because it didn’t meet the materially different than the project specifications. Burnn Boiler and Mechanical LLC submitted two recent project references, which included very similar work to the City Hall project.

The City has secured two million dollars in State General Obligation bonds to help alleviate the financial burden.
