UWRF Career Fair

The first in-person Career Fair at UW-River Falls since February 2020 had more than 800 UWRF students attending during the two-day event in the University Center last week.

Some 80 unique employers were on hand each day and at least 55 companies had representatives who are UW-River Falls alums. UW-River Falls Career Services staff noted employers thanked UW-River Falls for the in-person fair because it again permitted “organic” connections.

One employer added that the Career Fair was the best attended he’d been to this recruiting season. Career Services noted some UW System school have reported a 50% drop in participation compared to pre-COVID-19 times.

The Career Fair is an excellent way for students and alumni to network with employers from a variety of organizations and UW-River Falls graduate programs. Students benefit from attending by gathering information on organizations and possible job or internship opportunities and by enhancing professional communications skills from speaking with company representatives. Many students obtain jobs or internships as a result of attending the Career Fair.

The spring UWRF career fair is set for Feb. 16, 2022.
