With a small paid staff and a dedicated volunteer base, Options for Women has been providing support for women across the board for over 30 years.

Over the past five years, the Christian-based organization has become comfortable calling 214 N. Main St. home. In this space and for years prior to the move, Options for Women has been providing everything from pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease testing, to ultrasounds and nurse consultations, to insurance application assistance and baby supplies, and more.

There’s no shortage of available support for women in all stages of life. Men have access to some services, too.

Marie Regnier, the executive director, explained the goal of removing as many barriers as possible to these much needed resources.

The clinic is free to anyone who walks through the door. There is no cost for any of the services provided, including the baby supply boutique. The clinic also takes walk-ins during or appointments outside of regular hours.

Programs like FEMM, Women’s natural fertility awareness and reproductive health education, programs are available for learning and growth.

Regnier also described that geographical boundaries are not a barrier to clinic services. Whoever needs the resources are welcome to them.

“It’s hard to put a face to our clientele,” said Regnier. The advocates see women with stories across the board with varied reasons for visiting.

“We don’t believe in paper pushing,” she said. If a woman comes in worried about having a child, needing housing or insurance, for example, advocates will walk through that process with her, right then and there. This is help with layers.

Above all else, “We treat her as a person,” said Regnier.

Through medical, support and social services, Options for Women is welcoming to all, regardless of the level of need or the characteristics of a situation.

Excellent article about a wonderful, positive organization. They are a tremendous asset to River Falls and Western Wisconsin! Thank you for covering their 5-year Anniversary. :)
