Whether you have lived in New Richmond for two weeks or two years, New to New Richmond is for those who would like to meet people, learn about the city and possibly create interest groups. Sponsored by Community Education, this free event will be held 6-7 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Champs, 220 S. Knowles Ave., New Richmond. Light refreshments will be furnished and welcome gift bags distributed. This is not a class, but rather an opportunity to gather with like-minded people who would like to meet people in the city.
Attention runners and walkers! After last year's fantastic attendance, Body Works will be hosting its second annual 5K Fitness Walk and Run at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Body Works, 1380 N. Acres Road, Prescott. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Prescott Middle School Choir.

WELCH, Minn.—Adam Sandler is coming to Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minn., this summer. The comedian's "Netflix Presents: Here Comes the Funny Tour" will arrive at the casino northwest of Red Wing on Wednesday, June 21. Sandler will be joined by fellow comedians David Spade, Nick Swardson and Rob Schneider. It's a rare appearance in Minnesota by the comedians. Celebrate UW-River Falls' Year of Brazil with the RADD Jazz Series 2017 Earth Day concert featuring One World Consort and special guest artist Brazilian-American pianist and composer Jovino Santos Neto at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. Admission is free and open to everyone.
RIVER FALLS -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter will host the fifth annual Ag Day on Campus 10 am to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 18. The interactive event is free and open to the public.
RIVER FALLS, Wis. — As a result of the St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity's partnership with the SpartanNash Foundation and the four Family Fresh Market and Econofoods stores in New Richmond, River Falls, Somerset and Hudson, the local Habitat affiliate recently received an $8,400 donation from the retail grocery stores. The donation — which took place April 7 at Family Fresh Market, 303 South Main St., River Falls — will help build hope and affordable housing for Habitat homebuyers.
The St. Croix Valley Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus will hold spring concerts at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Stillwater Area High School in Oak Park Heights, Minn. The show theme, "Back in the Old Routine," is striking a particularly poignant note with the singers. The songs, including "There Never was a Gang Like Mine," "There's a New Gang on the Corner," are nostalgic reminiscences of the golden days of barbershop.
Pierce County's Spring Clean Sweep and Pharmaceutical Event will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22, at the Pierce County Solid Waste/Recycling Department, 707 N. Maple St., Ellsworth. The event will provide free disposal of unwanted medications, pesticides, fertilizers, solvents, fuels, cleaning agents, lead, oil and latex-based paints, and other chemicals from households and farmers. A charge may be applied for large loads of household hazardous waste or paint.
