Karla J. Colegrove, 45, of Maiden Rock, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at River Falls Area Hospital. Karla was born the daughter of LaVerne and Marilyn (Bottolfson) Klingensmith on Oct. 8, 1963, in River Falls. She was confirmed by Pastor Wally Mylander at Bethel Covenant Church and attended Sunday school at Bethlehem Lutheran and Bethel Covenant Church. She graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1982. Karla was employed by Hiawatha National Bank for 19 years. She enjoyed the wonderful relationships she had with her customers at the bank.
Irene Bednarowski, 94, of River Falls, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Kinnic Long Term Care. She was born in Appleton on July 16, 1915, daughter of William and Anna (Verhoven) Smith. Irene married Paul Bednarowski at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Appleton on June 12, 1937. In Irene's younger years she enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Irene was known for getting along with everybody, and she prayed daily for everyone she knew. She thanked God daily for her many blessings. Family and friends brought her the most joy.
Paul R. Cudd, 86, died on Thursday, Aug. 27, at River Falls Area Hospital. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Henning officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Sunday, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church from 4-8 p.m. and again on Monday one hour prior to the funeral at church. Gregory Lee Janovec, age 60, St. Cloud, Minn. died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at his home. Graveside services will be Friday, Aug. 28, at 12 noon at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Irene Bednarowski, age 94, of River Falls, Wis., passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at Kinnic Long Term Care in River Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, River Falls, with Father Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Menasha. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service all on Thursday at church. Memorials may be made in Irene's name to Kinnic Long Term Care, 1663 E.
Elva C. Bottolfson Hillebrandt, age 97, of River Falls, Wis., died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the Kinnic Long Term Care, River Falls. Funeral services for Elva will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, River Falls. Rev. Marcus Birkholz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Virginia "Tia" Toston, age 85, a resident of Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan died peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services for Virginia will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church of River Falls. The Rev. Michael Scholz will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls. Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. No other visitation shall be held.
Michael Joseph O'Brien, 53, of Hudson, beloved father, husband, brother, and son, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at his home in Hudson, surrounded by his family. Mike was born the son of Judge Thomas J. and Elizabeth (Dodge) O'Brien on Sept. 4, 1955. He was a member of the Hudson High School class of 1974. Michael and Mary V. Stepan were married on March 19, 1983, at the Carmelite Monastery in Hudson. They were blessed with three children. Mike worked as an insert specialist/plant ambassador at St. Croix Press, Inc. in New Richmond for many years.
Don Kruger, 67 of River Falls, died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Don was born on Aug. 5, 1942, in Red Wing, Minn., to Starr and Grace (Enberg) Kruger. The family lived in Hager City. He attended Wilson Grade School and he graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1960. He was married to Donna M. (Krauss) Kruger, and has lived in River Falls his entire life. For over 40 years, Don was a co-owner of Quality Built Homes in River Falls and a lifelong member of the First Covenant Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and most of all his family.
Brandon R. Falteisek, 46, formerly of River Falls, passed away at Lake Nebagamon on Friday, July 24, 2009. Parents are Paul Falteisek and Rosalie Harper.
