Roland Dennis "Rollie" Lee, age 79, of Baldwin and Woodville, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the Baldwin Care Center. A memorial service for Roland "Rollie" Lee will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Grace Agnes Dusek, age 87, of River Falls, died on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at her home. Grace was born Nov. 12, 1922, to Joseph and Frances (Fasbender) Langer in Diamond Bluff, Wis. On June 5, 1946, she married Joseph Dusek. To this union, five sons were born. Joseph and Grace farmed in Mann Valley until 1975. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and playing cards. She was an active member of St.
Phyllis Standaert, age 80, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Congregational Church, Spring Valley, Wis., with Rev. Jeff Holton officiating. Burial in the Spring Lake Cemetery, rural Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and at church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Carl (Mike) Fallos, age 74, passed away on March 21, 2010, due to respiratory failure (COPD) after a silent heart attack. After living in River Falls, Wis., for over 30 years, he was currently residing at Emerald Groves Central assisted living facility in Mesa, Ariz. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Roseberry's Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Friendship WI, 53934. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Carl was born on May 23, 1935, in Dellwood, Wis., in the home of Willie and Rubye Fallos. He attended one-room rural schools.
Paul was born August 1, 1923, enjoyed 86 years of life, and died peacefully March 3, 2010, in River Falls. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Ronald George Hedman of Shafer, Minn., formerly of the Burkhardt and River Falls areas, died far too young on Jan 26, 2010, of complications arising out of shoulder surgery at the Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. A private memorial was held at his niece's home in St. Paul and his ashes will be interred in Lindstrom, Minn.
Esther Alice Ducklow, age 94, of River Falls, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Kinnic Long Term Care of River Falls. She was born on Oct. 21, 1915, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Arthur and Mary (Sabin) Northfield. She graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis in 1933 and from University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1961. On April 6, 1935, she married Willis Ducklow, son of Frank and Francis (Prine) Ducklow. She was a dedicated teacher who started her career teaching all eight grades in a one-room schoolhouse.
Fletcher Chapman Baker Jr. was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Feb. 28, 1937, to Lois (Fleming) and Fletcher C. Baker Sr. He died at the age of 73 years and 9 days on March 9, 2010, in River Falls, Wis. He graduated from Will Rogers High School, Tulsa, in 1955. He then attended Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla., where he graduated in 1960 with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. Fletch lived in numerous areas until hired in 1965 by Hormel Corporation. In 1966, he married Joyce Hayden and settled in Gibbon, Minn.
Doris M. Roeske, age 87, formerly of River Falls, passed away on March 6, 2010, in Seymour, Wis. Although Doris was experiencing increasing physical limitations, she still managed to keep her great sense of humor and optimism. Doris was born on Nov. 15, 1922, in Minneapolis, to Irving and Ociel Allison. She was preceded in death by her husband, William V. (Bill) Roeske; and by brother, Mike Allison. She is survived by daughter, Sylvia (Don) Hoffman, Shiocton, Wis.; grandchildren, Jason Hoffman, Oakdale, Minn., and Sabrina (Kasey) Schwietzer, Shawano. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m.
