Doreen H. White, age 64, of Hudson, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the Kinnic Long Term Care Center in River Falls. On June 7, 1969, she married Donald White. Doreen had a big heart for life and always put everyone else first before herself. Her passion was spending time with family, friends, laughing, shopping and enjoying life as "Nana".
John Anthony Turcheneske Sr., age 89, of River Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the Kinnic Long Term Care, River Falls. John was born on June 14, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Adam and Rose (Schumacher) Turcheneske. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and married Mary Driscoll on Jan. 10, 1943, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Atlantic City, N.J. In 1955 he began employment with the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and remained with them until his retirement in 1983. Both John and Mary loved flower and vegetable gardening. He was an active member of St.
David Dean Knott was born on July 19, 1938, to Harry and Bess Knott. He lived in River Falls all his life and loved it. He graduated from River Falls High School and UW-RF, and spent two years in the National Guard in Ft. Lewis in Washington State. He worked in the family business, Melgard Monument Company, on and off through his growing up years and became a co-owner with his parents, which he, as of late, co-owned with his son, Korey.
Amy Jo Kulenkamp, 47, of Spring Valley, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. Amy was born March 15, 1963, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (DeGroot) Kriedeman at Menominee, Mich. She grew up at Crivitz, Wis., and graduated from Marinette High School in 1981. Graduated from UW-River Falls and received a Bachelor's degree in food service and animal nutrition in 1991. While in River Falls she worked at the Country Kitchen and the Amoco Station. On May 11, 1991, she married Elvin Kulenkamp at Crivitz. They have lived in Spring Lake Township since 1991.
Margaret "Ann" DesLauriers, age 78, of River Falls, Wis., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minn. Ann was born on Sept. 12, 1932, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Brennen) Alberg. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She married Leonard J. DesLauriers on Aug. 14, 1954. Together they farmed and raised six children. Ann and Leonard spent many years growing produce and selling it at the Farmers Markets in Richfield and St. Paul. She enjoyed socializing, gardening and reading. Ann was an active member of St.
Fred Dravis, age 74, of River Falls, died on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Prescott, Wis. Fred was born the son of Henry and Mary (Kuka) Dravis on March 28, 1936, in Prescott. He was a graduate of Prescott High School with the class of 1954. Fred served in the Army from 1955-1958. He worked as a safety engineer in the insurance industry for many years. His career took him many places in the United States and abroad. On Dec.
Nellie "Nell" Schultz, age 88, of River Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at River Falls Area Hospital. She was born in River Falls on Dec. 4, 1921, daughter of James and Julia Blanche (Gillard) Penny. Nell was a very active person throughout her life. From 1963 to 1970 she was an over-the-road truck driver and she drove mobile homes from Indiana through the ALCAN Highway all the way to Alaska. She was a pioneer, a feisty, fearless and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and faithful servant of God.
Harvey Johnson, age 90, of River Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, surrounded by his family at Comforts of Home in River Falls. He was born in River Falls on August 9, 1920, son of John and Minnie (Deal) Johnson. Harvey was united in marriage to Irene Scott on May 22, 1942. This union was blessed with eight children. Harvey entered into the Army at the age of 22 and was stationed in Colorado.
Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Wennblom will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Larson Funeral Home in Graceville with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Father David Breu will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Sterling, Mathew Wendorf, Jim Ludowese, David Alberts, Charles Frevert, Dennis Pullis, Elton Jones, and Gary Haugen.
