Margery L. Click, 74, of River Falls, Wis., died peacefully at her beloved home on April 26, 2011, after a long battle with a neurological degenerative disease. Her husband and children were by her side. Margery was born to Paul and Florence (Fox) Just in Spokane, Wash., on April 22, 1937. She grew up on a farm in Loon Lake, Wash., and graduated valedictorian from Deer Park High School in 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert E. Click, on June 16, 1956.
Joan Marie Larson, age 58, of Ellsworth, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Marion L. (Gear) Ostness, age 81, of River Falls, Wis., died Monday, April 25, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in River Falls. She was born to Russell and Irene Gear in St. Paul, Minn., on May 1, 1929. She married Loyd Ostness on Oct. 15, 1949, in St. Paul. To this union were born two children, David of River Falls and Diana of Cumberland, Wis. She was a very active member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church, singing and playing organ for the church. Marion worked for the River Falls Public Schools and Sears Catalogue Store in River Falls.
Helen Elizabeth Johnson, age 86, of River Falls, Wis., died Saturday, April 23, 2011, peacefully, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Andre and Anna Rivard on Oct. 24, 1924, in Somerset, Wis. Helen married Harry G. Johnson on Jan. 29, 1944 in Somerset. Helen lived on a farm in the town of Clifton for 53 years. She enjoyed baking and cooking, sewing, reading, gardening, playing cards, and most importantly playing with grandkids.
Duane E. "Dewey" Huppert, age 72, of River Falls, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at United Hospital, St.
Keith R. Simpson, 93, of Eau Claire, former employee of the City of River Falls, died on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at home, surrounded by his wife and children. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St., Eau Claire. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Burial will take place at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
Bernard Michael "Bernie" Schmidt, age 73, of Hammond, died on April 20, 2011, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. Bernie was born on June 23, 1937, to Leo B. and Elsie M. (Huppert) Schmidt in El Paso Township. He was raised on the family farmstead where he attended school in Big River. As a young man, he was drafted into the Armed Forces and proudly served in the United States Army. On May 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Audrey Jean McNeal at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings.
Shelly Ann Gans, age 41, of Prescott, passed away on April 17, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in River Falls. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole, and sons, Tyler and Travis; their father, Steven Tipp; extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred. Carol J. (Jahr) Aaron, age 60, of Hammond, Wis., died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at her home. Carol was born on Oct. 29, 1950, in Spring Valley, Wis., to Marvin and Gladys (Johnson) Jahr. She worked at the Lyndon Health Care Center for 21 years. Carol loved her family, riding the Harley, fishing, camping, going to the deer hunting shack, and just being outdoors.
Thomas J. Pfremmer Sr., of River Falls, Wis., age 91, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011, in River Falls. He was born on Oct. 23, 1919, to Harold and Lillian (Wilbright) Pfremmer in Preston, Minn. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in France and England. Thomas married Audrey Hanstein on Aug. 17, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo. They moved to Wisconsin in 1947. He was employed at the 3M plant in Cottage Grove, Minn., for 27 years and retired from there in 1984. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Thomas enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and being outdoors.
