Constance Schollmeier, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Our House Assisted Living Facility in River Falls after a courageous battle with cancer. Connie was born on Dec. 24, 1927, in the Town of Alma. After graduating from Cochrane High School, she worked at Watkins in Winona, Minn. She married Glenn Schollmeier on Oct. 9, 1948. Following several moves, they settled in River Falls in 1958.
Timothy David Herum, Jan. 21, 1960 - Nov. 5, 2010. Tim Herum was taken home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday evening, Nov. 5, 2010. He was 50 years old. Tim was born in Hudson, Wis., on Jan. 21, 1960. He graduated from River Falls High School in 1978 and attended the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. Tim was an extremely intelligent man who was a professional computer programmer, mathematics wizard, wine expert, restaurant owner, pilot, and a deacon at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Marjorie B. Mittelstadt died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. While surrounded by her family and loved ones, Marge (aka: mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, friend) got her wings. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at First Congregational Church in River Falls. Visitation will also be Saturday from 12-2 p.m. before the service at church. "In her honor, we are celebrating her life and the beginning of her new journey." Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
Camille "Millie" Ripple, age 72, of River Falls, died on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Camille was born the daughter of Benedict and Louise (Korda) Kozbiel on Sept. 21, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wis. She attended St. Mary Magdalene grade school through 8th grade, then 9th grade at St. John's Cathedral, and high school at Pulaski Public High School, graduating with the class of 1956. On Oct. 19, 1957, Camille was married to Richard Ripple. They lived in Milwaukee until 1977.
Arnell Yvonne Kuss, age 80, passed away gently Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at The Lutheran Home in River Falls. She was born May 9, 1930, the daughter of Sylvas and Rucilla (Halverson) Johnson. Arnell was a resident of River Falls and also spent many years in Eau Claire and a summer cabin in Spooner. She was a very active past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and a member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls. Arnell was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood since 1965, volunteered with Meal on Wheels and other organizations.
Patricia Ann "Patty" Borchardt (nee Koehler), age 47, of River Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Patty was born on Dec. 26, 1963, in Brainerd, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Geiger) Koehler. She was raised in River Falls attending St. Bridget's Parochial School before graduating from River Falls High School in the class of 1982. Patty worked most of her adult life as an administrative assistant. She worked for Chippewa Valley Technical College in River Falls before working for Heartland Montessori south of River Falls.
Eugene Paul Ruetz, aka "Geno", age 81, of Warren Township, Wis., died on Jan. 4, 2011, at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. Funeral services for Eugene will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts, Wis. A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services Saturday as well as on Friday, Jan. 7, from 5-8 p.m., all at the church. Burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Walter Charles Miller, age 94, passed away on Dec. 11, 2010, at the Lake Ridge Nursing Home in Roseville, Minn., with family at his side. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn (Krupp); father, Martin E. Miller; mother, Wyola (Wiseman) Miller; and sister Martha Roebert. Walter, known as Bud, is survived by his son, Robert Miller; daughter, Kathryn Kramber; sister Marion Bush; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Interment will take place at St.
Paul H. Augustine, age 79, of Hastings, Minn. A devout family man and ski business pioneer who has gone to rest after passing away on Jan. 1, 2011, in the loving arms of his wife, Rosemary, at Afton Care St. Croix in Afton, Minn. Also survived by sons, John (Monica) of Stillwater and David (Tracie) of Woodbury; daughter, Amy (John) Reents of Hastings; brother Robert of Hastings; sisters, Rose Sieben of Hastings and Sr. Dolores Augustine of Monroe, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and many other relatives, co-workers, and friends.
Lucile M. Crownhart Hunter Vorwald Abrahamson, age 93, of River Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the Kinnic Long Term Care Center. The daughter of Maurice and Myrtle (Halberg) Crownhart, Lucile Mertes Crownhart was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Balsam Lake, Wis. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Grantsburg Lutheran Church. On July 1, 1943, she married Henry Daniel "Dan" Hunter of Siren, Wis., at Mare Island Naval Chapel in Vallejo, Calif. The couple was blessed with three children, Larry, Susan and Ruth Ann.
