Darlyne J. Mark, age 71, of Beldenville, Wis., died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 21, 1940, to Ervin and Myrtle Huebel. She completed her education in Pierce County. She was married for 45 years to Harry T. Mark of Beldenville. She greatly loved her family, especially her 28 grandchildren. She was an avid Packer fan, and her last greatest joy was watching the Packers beat the Vikings on Monday night with her family. She was a 4-H leader for many years. She also loved gardening, cooking for her family, and watching her eagles from her porch.
Eunice E. (Brooke) Dahms, 90, died on Oct. 15. Born on Oct. 11, 1921, to Arthur and Marie Brooke of Spring Valley, Eunice was one of 11 children. Eunice married Elmer "Pete" Dahms on Oct. 25, 1941. Together they had seven children. The family lived in Spring Valley until 1959 when they moved to River Falls. They purchased the Cozy Lunch Café and Greenwood Grocery, later known as the Falls Café. After selling the business in 1970, Eunice worked in food services at UWRF until she retired in 1992.
Margaret M. (Ciolkosz) Gruber, of Ellsworth, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2010, at River Falls Area Hospital. She was 69. Born May 3, 1941, in Chicago, she moved with her family as a child to the town of Delmar, near Boyd, and was raised on a dairy farm. She graduated from Stanley High School in 1958. She then attended St. Mary's School of Nursing at Wausau, graduating in 1962. She married Frank Gruber on June 2, 1962, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boyd. The couple moved to St.
Donald W. Murphy, a longtime Ellsworth area dairy farmer, died late Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was 76. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Audrey; children Debbie, Dawn (Dan), Gary (Julie), David (Tammy), Jerome (Barb), Judi (Scott); 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 5th at St. Francis Cathlic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday at the church and again, an hour before services on Saturday. Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Ellsworth is providing arrangements.
Karla J. Colegrove, age 45 of Maiden Rock died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at the River Falls Area Hospital. Karla was born the daughter of LaVerne and Marilyn (Bottolfson) Klingensmith on Oct. 8, 1963 in River Falls. She was confirmed by Pastor Wally Mylander at Bethel Covenant Church and attended Sunday school at Bethlehem Lutheran and Bethel Covenant Church. She graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1982. Karla was employed by Hiawatha National Bank for 19 years.
Duane Clark Larson, age 65, of Karns, passed away July 8, 2009, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Duane grew up in Lund, Wis., on a dairy farm. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and his PhD in nuclear physics from Michigan State University. In 1968, Duane married fellow physics student Nancy Zander. Together, they earned their PhDs in 1972 and then joined the staff at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Norris John Samb, age 55 of Baldwin, Wisconsin, died suddenly Monday evening, July 13, 2009, at his home in Eau Galle Township. Norris was born April 15, 1954, the twin son of Johnnie and Gladyce (Jacobson) Samb at Baldwin. He grew up at Spring Valley, where he attended school, graduating with the Class of 1972. After high school, he attended Red Wing Vo-Tech for truck driving. He drove for a number of years and most recently was rural carrier for the Post Office at Roberts and New Richmond. Robole, Patricia "Pat" A., Age 62 of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, July 7th, at her home, following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 21, 1947, in Plum City, WI, the daughter of Loren and Rhene (Poquette) Lewis. Pat attended Elmwood High School and later in life graduated from the Red Wing Technical College with a degree in Nursing. She worked as an LPN for many years at Regina Medical Center in Hastings, retiring in 2004. Pat married Ralph W.
Funeral services for Betty will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church Ellsworth. Burial will be in the Beldenville Cemetery.
