Frances D. Yanisch Buss, 70, of River Falls, Wis., died on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minn. Frances was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1942, at River Falls City Hospital, the daughter of Herbert S. and Dorothy (Stern) Yanisch. She lived in Salem Township, Ellsworth, Wis., until 1945 when she moved with her parents to a farm in Oak Grove Township, Prescott, Wis. She married Kenneth Peter Buss on May 28, 1960, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prescott. They farmed in the Big River area, Oak Grove Township, in River Falls. Kenneth died Sept. 13, 1990.
Velda Marie Snow, age 87, died Saturday, Jan. 26, at Our House Senior Living in River Falls, Wis. Velda was born on Dec. 26, 1925, at home in Oak Grove Township, Wis., the daughter of George and Anna Cobian. She married Vernon Snow on June 20, 1944.
Audrey Grant, 78, of Spring Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at The Lutheran Home in River Falls. Audrey was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Gilman Township, to Carl and Elvina (Anderson) Brorson. She grew up in Gilman Township, attended Spring Valley schools, and married Malcolm "Mike" Grant on March 16, 1953. They lived in the Elmwood and Spring Valley areas all their lives. Audrey worked at Smeads in River Falls for over 20 years. She was always up for a game of cards, especially euchre, and often did crossword puzzles. She loved to sew, crochet, and cross-stitch.
Dan M. Serene, 80, of River Falls, Wis., formerly of Pepin, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Kinnic Health Care Center in River Falls. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin, with military rites following the service. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services at the church.
Rochelle F. Kinneman, 74, of Ellsworth, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Red Wing Health Care Center, with her family by her side. Rochelle was born on May 23, 1938, in Prescott, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Erma (Kusilek) Cotter. She was a graduate of Prescott High School. Rochelle married Robert L. Kinneman on Feb. 9, 1957, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Prescott. Rochelle was known for being a strong woman with a big heart and was loved by all who knew her. Her passion was her family.
David Joe Williams, 71, of Roberts, Wis., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. David was born on July 24, 1941, in Alexandria, Minn., the son of Joseph and Vivian (Gumz) Williams. He was a 1959 graduate of Buffalo High School, Buffalo, Minn. David served from 1961 until 1965 in the U.S. Navy. David was a longtime employee of Lund's Hardware. He was a member of St.
Sharon Theresa Hines, age 58, of Ellsworth, Wis., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Jan. 9, at her home in Ellsworth. Sharon Theresa (Huppert) Hines was born on Aug. 14, 1954, in Red Wing, Minn., the daughter of Leo T. and Rosella (Pechacek) Huppert. Sharon was raised in Ellsworth on her parent's dairy farm, graduating from Ellsworth High School in 1972. Sharon and Alan "Al" P. Hines were united in marriage on Sept. 20, 1975, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (Clayfield) in Ellsworth.
Marjorie Dietzler, age 86, died on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Ellsworth, Wis. Marge was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sept. 13, 1926, the daughter of Roy and Alva Delander. Her passions were horses, music, dancing, reading, and above all else - her family of eight children (Tim, Tom, Sally, Terry, Sue, Toby, Sheri, and Ayele), 20 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren (plus 2 "in the oven!") She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her sister, Merry Stensing; and her son Ayele Zeleke. Visitation is at the Hill Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St., Ellsworth, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Arnold "Arnie" Cornell Knutson was set free from this world on Wednesday night, Nov. 7, where he was reunited with his wife, Iola. He was 81 years old. Arnie was born in 1931 to Adolph and Alma (Olson) Knutson. He was born the youngest of five boys. He grew up on the family farm in Martell, Wis., where he farmed all of his life. He attended Cloverdale School and graduated in 1949 from Ellsworth High School.
Jo Ann White, age 53, of River Falls, Wis., died Friday, Sept. 28, at her home in River Falls. Funeral service for Jo Ann will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Martell Methodist Cemetery, Martell, Wis.
