A pick-up truck being operated by a teenager ran over a 5-year-old Wilson boy on Thursday. The St. Croix County Sheriff's office responded to a residence in the Village of Wilson at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18. According to the Sheriff's Department, a 1991 Chevrolet K1500 pickup was being moved by 18-year-old driver Trygve Turner. Rodney Blodgett, 5, of Wilson went in front of the truck and he was run over. Blodgett was transported to the Baldwin Area Medical Center by Baldwin EMS where he was pronounced dead by the St.
St. Croix Valley Collector's Association is hosting a barn dance and threshing bee event in the Roberts Village Park this weekend. The St. Croix Valley Collector's Association is an organized group whose members collect various antique farm-related equipment and host an annual Threshing Bee. Three people were injured in a crash along Interstate 94 near Roberts at around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. The crash occurred at milepost 12 in the westbound lane. Dale Larson of Augusta, Wis. was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over in the ditch. The driver and two occupants of the car were taken to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities with injuries.
A Baldwin man died late Sunday afternoon when a vehicle left a Town of Emerald road in St. Croix County, struck trees and rocks, then caught fire with the driver still trapped inside. Cory S. Johnson, 32, Baldwin, was pronounced dead at the scene by the county medical examiner. Three people who came across the crash attempted to extricate Johnson from the vehicle and put out the fire, but they were unable to due to the intense fire. St. Croix County authorities were alerted to the crash at 4:02 p.m.
A 51-year-old Woodville man who was injured in a July 6 motorcycle accident died yesterday due to injuries suffered in the accident, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department. Keith Bazille, who was not wearing a helmet, was partially ejected from his 2007 Yamaha when it struck a deer on the road, causing the cycle to skid. He was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul and died there Wednesday, July 13. His passenger, Kalley Bazille, 13, was also partially ejected from the motorcycle and was also taken to Regions for treatment of her injuries.

An 11-year-old girl was killed Friday night when a tree feel on her at a Burnett County, Wis., campground during a storm with winds up to 100 mph that cast a path of destruction across Northwestern Wisconsin. The death of a Burnett County man of an apparent heart attack also might have been related to the storm, according to Brian Satula, administrator of the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center. Dawn Sargent, public information officer for the county, said 39 people were injured in the storm, three critically. The critically injured victims were taken to hospitals in Eau Claire, Wis.
The front seat passenger and driver of a Crown Victoria died due to injuries from a one-vehicle accident at about 11:48 p.m. Saturday, May 21, near St. Croix Falls. The driver, Jesse L. Smith, 32, Amery, was westbound on Highway 8 near Sunset View Drive when drove off the paved portion of the road on the north shoulder. The driver attempted to take corrective action but lost control of the vehicle.
