William J. "Bill" Allen, age 81, died on Dec. 17, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife, Marvel, and their three children: daughter, Fawn Allen (Don Foster); sons, Branch Allen (Shelly Hill) and Knox Allen (Liz Benson); nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Lucille "Betty" Hutton, age 86 of Hudson, died on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Arthur Rose Care Home in New Richmond, Wis. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson. Interment following at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Hudson. Laurence "Larry" Fleischauer was born on Aug. 8, 1937, in St. Paul, to Gaylen and Marcella Ryan Fleischauer. He died Feb. 17, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz. Larry began his schooling in St. Paul and continued in sixth grade at Willow Hill School, in the town of Pleasant Valley, in St. Croix County. He graduated from River Falls High School in 1955. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 and served until 1960. He then attended River Falls State Teachers College for a year. He moved from Wisconsin to Los Angeles, Calif., where he lived and worked all of his adult life.
Beverly Rae Melser, 65, of Chisago City, Minn., formerly of River Falls, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 8. She was born the daughter of Archie and Hazel (Berk) Brookshaw on Aug.
Leo E. McAleavey, 87, of River Falls, died Monday, Feb. 18, at Prescott Care Center. He was born on June 16, 1920, the son of William and Mary (Webster) McAleavey in Ellsworth. Leo married Joyce Warren on Aug. 12, 1953, at St. Bridget Catholic Church. He worked for Ellsworth Creamery and later was self-employed as an independent trucking service hauling furniture, potatoes and cattle.
