A Woodbury man who billed himself as Hudson's top-rated children's dentist has closed his practice while criminal and civil cases make their way through two Wisconsin counties. An outgoing voice message at La Petite Dentistry states the Carmichael Road office is "permanently closed." The practice was owned by Dr. Andy Mancini, a Woodbury resident who faces four misdemeanor charges and has sued his accuser for other allegations she has made against him.

A New Richmond woman is appealing a St. Croix County Board of Canvassers decision that cost her a county board seat. The April 3 vote for St. Croix County Board's District 13 seat finished in an exact tie between incumbent Scottie Ard and challenger Ryan Sherley. Ard was declared the winner after a Board of Canvassers process where her name was drawn from a bowl. The result prompted Sherley to demand a recount, which yielded the same vote total, but turned up a three-vote difference between voters and ballots cast.
A Baldwin man accused of threatening to shoot a neighbor was arrested Saturday in a tense incident that brought in an armored police vehicle and led to a nearby bar's evacuation. Members of the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office emergency response unit (ERU) eventually arrested the suspect, Jonathan G. Nagy, without incident at his 1020 Seventh Ave. home.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 1:16 a.m. April 12 at highways 35 and 63 in Hager City. The driver, a Hastings woman, was arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine possession, drug paraphernalia possession and electric weapon possession.

Three St. Croix County towns were among several rural communities awarded funding last week by the state to expand broadband connectivity. Northwest Communications received a total of $259,000 in funds for the towns of St. Joseph and Somerset, while Nextgen Communications was awarded $60,000 for the town of Forest as part of $7.68 million in grants from the Public Service Commission. The grants, met by $19.47 million in private matching funds, were issued to 46 communities around Wisconsin.
A foot chase that led to a confrontation with officers in the middle of the Apple River resulted in a Clear Lake man's arrest Wednesday in northern St. Croix County. The man was arrested after allegedly fighting with three St. Croix County Sheriff's Office deputies in midstream after being tracked down and grabbed by a police dog. The suspect, identified in the St. Croix County jail roster as Jess D. Malone, 33, was arrested on suspicion of resisting an officer, battery to law enforcement, methamphetamine possession and a probation hold.
HUDSON, Wis. — Bail remained at $500,000 for a St. Croix County man accused of killing his 19-year-old son. The St. Croix County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday charged 42-year-old Kayle Alan Fleischauer of New Richmond with first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting death of his son, St. Paul resident Chase Alan Fleischauer.
St. Croix County authorities said one person is in custody following a suspicious death early Saturday in rural New Richmond. According to a news release, sheriff’s deputies were called at 4:11 a.m. to a home in the town of Richmond. Officers found a 19-year-old man there dead “under suspicious circumstances,” the news release states.
