Dr. Delbert "Del" Permann has spent the last three years as interim pastor for Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ. Roberts UCC has now called Rev. Melinda Feller to serve as their minister. In recognition of Permann's service the past three years, Permann said the Roberts UCC congregation gave him an honorary certificate of pew ownership, so he will always have a place to sit when he returns to visit Roberts UCC. Permann stands next to the pew.

River Falls United Methodist Pastor Steven Kaehr (pronounced Car) succeeded Janet Ellinger in July. Kaehr, who had youthful ambitions to be a serious musician, stands by the church altar with one of his Native American flutes, this one is hand carved out of cocobolo, a tropical hardwood. Kaehr, 52, plays the flute during memorial church settings, prayer litanies, and for hospital and hospice visits.

Gail and Randy Baar have lived through tough, debilitating times during their 38-year marriage, including Randy's ongoing struggle with depression, which leaves him susceptible to mood swings. Randy, with Gail's help, is embarking on a new ministry designed to emphasize easing the effects of mental illness.

A group of 15 people from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in River Falls attended the church's National Youth event on the campus of Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind. July 10-14. Church Pastor Chris Myers said it was a "great conference with incredible speakers." Thousands of teens from across the country went to workshops, helped with service projects and worshipped. The young locals listened to a talk by JR Martinez of Dancing with the Stars, heard gospel music played by Vy Higgense...
