New River Falls patrol officer Jason Poirier has both a master’s degree and a military background dating back to the early days of the Iraq War. He grew up in Cottage Grove, Minn. Poirier’s wife, Catrina, is a neo-natal intensive care nurse at St. Paul’s Children’s Hospital.
