Our Neighbors’ Place  Day Center is moving to 1207 S. Main St., just south of Dick’s Hometown Liquor. The building previously housed a daycare center but is now empty. It belongs to River Falls businessman Dick Rinehart.

Brownie Troop 55179 members from River Falls show off the blankets that they made while earning their "Change A Story" Award, where girls learn that they have the power to make positive changes in the world. A standing room only crowd filled the council chambers Monday evening, March 24 for a public meeting to discuss the city's application for renewed licensing of the two hydroelectric dams on the Kinnickinnic River. Many River Falls and area residents were given a chance to speak at the meeting. People will also have 60 days after the meeting to submit written comments.

The city of River Falls has come up with two possible plans for the prospective Sterling Ponds corporate park. According to City Administrator Scot Simpson and Planning Director Buddy Lucero, both plans take measures to keep the corporate park and residential areas separate. Both also include area for an expanded recreational park and a storm water pond.  The main difference between the two plans is the shape of the roads.

River Falls painter Harold Henson suffered serious burns to both hands but survived a Dec. 19 fire that left his house at 212 S. Wasson Lane uninhabitable. Thanks to Harold’s efforts, his beloved dog Peanut got out alive. Three pet cats were not so fortunate. Harold’s wife of 17 years, Dr. Loretta Henson, a psychologist who offices at 123 W. Cascade Ave., was leaving work when told about the blaze.
