Each year the River Falls Community Gospel Choir, directed by Camilla Horne, performs for those who attend the annual River Falls Community Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast held 7-9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the fellowship hall of St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E. Division St.

High school exchange student Ana Santamarina Fernandez loves snow and autumn leaves, two things she doesn’t see in her home city, La Coruna, Spain. Her host family, parents Greg and Tammy Haas, and daughter Brittany Haas, plan to take her skiing sometime this winter.

Ellen Somerville, 9, Hudson, won first place in the youth whimsical category of the River Falls Public Library’s annual gingerbread house competition, with her "Lambeau Field" gingerbread house. Somerville, said she chose to make a gingerbread replica of Lambeau Field because  she is a Packers fan.
