Emily Gjerde sits on top of the mattresses used in the play “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Community Business Expo. She plays the lead, Princess Winifred, in the RFHS and Community Theater production. The play runs Nov. 15-17, 22 and 23. Gjerde said her experience with MTV MADE has helped her learn to be a leading lady.

Children help Glinda and Agent Egg trade foot-warming booties to some trolls with chilly feet. In exchange the kids collected two "dragon eggs" as a part of the library's annual Halloween event, this year called " “The Labyrinth of Not-So-Terrible Terror."

The River Falls Marching Wildcats won their seventh consecutive state title Saturday, returning Sunday in school buses and several other vehicles escorted by the River Falls police and fire departments. After their return, members of the band posed for a photo in the RFHS parking lot.

"Pluggie" the robotic fire hydrant will soon start his last year with the fire department's fire safety education program. Pluggie will be retired after this year. The department is hoping to replace him with "Freddie the Firetruck."
