High Court upholds state ruling in Troy land dispute

Skogen BRC Player of Year

River Falls senior Blake Skogen earned 2017 Big Rivers Conference Player of the Year honors after shooting a 75 to tie for second place at the BRC Tournament Wednesday, May 17, at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake.

Skogen entered the tournament with a two-point lead over Eau Claire North's John Haselwander in the individual conference standings. Both shot 75 to finish one-stroke behind medalist Matt Fladten of Eau Claire Memorial and clinch Player of the Year honors for Skogen.

The Wildcats finished in a tie for second place in the final team standings after tying four fourth at the conference tournament with a score of 327.

Jaxon Knotek tied for ninth Wednesday with a round of 79 and Taylor Thompson shot an 82 while Max Morrow had a 91 and Jesse Cudd finished with 95.

Next up for the Wildcats is the WIAA Division 1 Regional Tuesday, May 23, at New Richmond.
