Snows impacts area hockey playoffs

With heavy snow expected to begin falling in Western Wisconsin this afternoon, the WIAA has rescheduled area boys and girls hockey playoff games scheduled for tonight (Feb. 20).

Both the Hudson and River Falls High School boys and girls teams’ regional final games, originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20, have been moved back a day because of the snow.

Hudson’s boys will now play Spooner at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Gornick Arena in Hudson with the Raider girls facing Chippewa Falls at 7 p.m., also at Gornick.

The River Falls boys will play at Somerset at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the girls (St. Croix Valley Fusion) hosting Eau Claire at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Centre in River Falls.

See the Feb. 27 print edition of the Hudson Star-Observer and River Falls Journal for all the regional hockey results.
