Senior Luke Murphy scored 27 points to become River Falls’ all-time scoring leader and lead the Wildcat boys’ basketball team to a 64-47 victory over Eau Claire North Tuesday night, Feb. 18, at the high school gym.

Murphy needed four points going into the game to break the record of 1,306 points set by Jake Voeltz (2003-06). After scoring the Cats’ first basket on a layup, he set the record with a three-pointer from the corner midway through the first quarter.

Murphy currently has 1,330 career points, 550 of those coming this season to set the Wildcats’ single-season scoring record. He is averaging 26.1 points per game.

The Wildcats, now 9-12 overall, 4-7 in Big Rivers Conference play, will wrap up the regular season this Friday, Feb. 21, at home against Hudson at 7:15 p.m.
