Boy Scouts of New Richmond Troop 144 attacked buckthorn with loppers and trichlopyr after getting instruction from Jack Rasmussen, “The Buckthorn King.” Since that start, Ruwal Freese’s “Buckthorn Brigade” has continued that work on Tuesday mornings when weather permits.

Members of the River Falls Post 121 senior legion baseball team hoist the championship trophy after defeating Shawano, 14-4, in the American Legion Class AA state title game Sunday in Kaukauna. It’s the second state championship in five years for the Post 121 senior legion team and gives River Falls a sweep of both the 2015 American Legion junior and senior state titles.
