Barr repeat All-BRC volleyball pick

Wildcat junior Zoe Barr has been named to the All-Big Rivers Conference Volleyball Team for the second straight year.

Junior Zoe Barr is the lone Wildcat representative on the 2010 All-Big Rivers Conference Volleyball Team.

Barr is one of nine players who received Honorable Mention on the team, the second straight year she was named Honorable Mention.

Wildcat coach Sara McDonald said Barr was the team's go-to hitter and leading blocker this season.

"It was often times challenging to get her the ball because she plays in the middle and we didn't pass consistently," McDonald said. "She is a solid volleyball player and a leader on our team."

McDonald said she believes Barr deserved to be named to the All-BRC Second Team.

"Our conference has a lot of solid players in it," she said. "She is as good or better than every player that earned that honor. Our team is finding its own identity and that has not yet translated into wins. Until it does, the other coaches in the conference will not respect individual players' talent."

The Wildcats finished 1-5 in the BRC this season, 3-14 overall.

Chippewa Falls led all selections with five players named, including two to the seven-player First Team. Conference champion Eau Claire North also had two First Team selections and four players named overall while Eau Claire Memorial and Hudson also had four players each named.
