Delores E. Herum
Delores E. Herum
Delores Earline "Toots" Herum, age 82 of River Falls, passed away April 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Delores was born February 1, 1936 in Emerald, WI to Lafayette and Frances (Clepp) Wider. Delores graduated from Ellsworth High School, the Class of 1954. After high school, Delores moved to St. Paul to work. During this time, she showed up at games and was known as "the mysterious blonde" watching David play college basketball. Delores was united in marriage to David Charles Herum on April 21, 1957 at First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. Delores and David's marriage was blessed with three children, Timothy, Daniel, and Elizabeth.
Delores was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who provided a loving and welcoming home for her family. She delighted in being in the kitchen, making fresh baked cinnamon rolls, cookies and delicious homemade meals for those she loved. Delores put much heart into making holidays and special occasions for her family and friends memorable and meaningful, with just the perfect table settings, decorations, and special touches. Cooking, baking, and trying new recipes were a passion of Delores'. She was ALWAYS up for a game of cards or dice... but it was under her "house rules". Most important to Delores was her faith and her family. Delores and her husband, David were lifelong members of First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. They met at a young age when Delores' father picked David up on the Sunday School bus to take them to church. They were also faithful and active members of The Gideon's International for over 40 years. Delores and David were both very fond of traveling, alone or with close friends, visiting relatives and sites throughout the United States, site-seeing in Norway, and taking in the beauty of an Alaskan Cruise with special friends.
Delores will remain in the hearts of her son, Daniel (Joann) Herum of River Falls; daughter, Elizabeth (Dan "Buck") Siroin of River Falls; daughter-in-law, Ginette Herum of San Antonio, TX; 6 grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer) Herum, Nathan (Kristin) Herum, Danielle (Sean) Arriola, Ian Herum, Derek Siroin, and Jacob Siroin; 4 great-grandchildren: Maranda, Jamison, Emery and Kinsley; sister, Roberta Hall of Moses Lake, WA; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David on January 6, 2017; son, Timothy; sister, Janice Hilan; and her parents.
Funeral Services for Delores will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 509 W. Main St., Ellsworth, with Pastor Amy Kosari officiating. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, with Delores' grandchildren as pallbearers.
