Ronald A. Anderson

Ronald Alden Anderson, age 74 of River Falls, passed away November 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Ronald was born December 25, 1942 in Red Wing, MN to Roy Alden and Stella Mae (Walker) Anderson. He attended Ellsworth High School. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Marlys Louise Larkens on December 16, 1967 in River Falls. Their marriage was blessed with four sons: Thomas, Timothy, Gary, and Jerry. Ron worked for Nor-Lake for 13 years, and the City of River Falls, Park and Recreation for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Ron was an outdoorsman, who appreciated the peacefulness of nature, along with hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his time tinkering in the garage, and became a skilled wood worker. He shared many of his wood crafted furniture pieces with his family. Ron and Marlys were fortunate to share many travels throughout the United States, creating many wonderful memories together. Ron was a devoted husband, proud father to his sons, and loving grandfather. He was always there for his family to lend a hand, and delighted in spoiling his grandchildren. Ronald will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of almost 50 years, Marlys; sons, Thomas Anderson, Timothy (Tammi) Anderson, Gary (Monica) Anderson, and Jerry (Amber) Anderson; 5 grandchildren: Jauni, Mackenzie, Robbie, Vince, and Emma; siblings: Robert (Pat) Anderson, Bill (Tonya) Anderson, Jerry (Mary) Anderson, Carol (Bob) King, Jackie Anderson, Roger (Barb) McDermott, Tim (Julie) McDermott, Ginny Meier, Karen (Jim) Lawson, and Margaret Neisius; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Anderson, and Stella Christenson; step-father, Clayton Christenson; and sister, Sharon Espinosa. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the O'Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 225 South 3rd St., River Falls. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 12:00 Noon at the O'Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home with Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Military honors will be provided by the River Falls American Legion. Interment service will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday November 24, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery.
