Edward Jenkins

Edward Allen Jenkins, age 89 of River Falls, WI, died on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Comforts of Home in River Falls. Ed was born November 15, 1927 in Clear Lake, WI to parents Harry and Edna (Hagen) Jenkins. Ed later moved with his family to River Falls, where he would graduate from River Falls High School. Ed furthered his education at the Minnesota School of Business. On June 10, 1950 Ed would be united in marriage to Mary M. Kordosky. Their union in marriage would be blessed with six children: Steve, Mike, Mark, Todd, Pam, and Tom. Ed worked for over 35 years as the Business Manager for the River Falls Clinic. After retirement, he was by Mary's side in welcoming and serving others at Mary's Caf. Ed always stayed busy with hunting, fishing, tinkering, and gardening, and being active at St. Bridget's Catholic Church and with the Knights of Columbus. Ed was a charter member of the River Falls Legion, and supported many local youth involved in Legion Baseball. Ed also was a part of the first ambulance service provided to the community of River Falls. Above all else, Ed was a family man; the kind of dad who was supportive of his children in all that they did. As grandkids were added to the family roster, he and Mary kept them close... by building a pool. It assured lots of visits from the ones they held most dear. Ed is survived by his children, Steve (Lynn) Jenkins, Mike Jenkins, Mark (Sandy) Jenkins, Todd (Lois) Jenkins, Pam (Steve) Wunrow, Tom (Julie) Jenkins, and Ann Jenkins; grandchildren, Nick (Amy), Jessica, Emmy (Sam), Joe (Julie), Tony (Jennifer), Dan (Sarah), Elizabeth (Joe), Sam (Angie), Zach, Tanner (Kelly), Alex, Eric, Brittni (Kegan), and Luke (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Josh, Evie, Rowyn, Alice, Audrey, Brendan, Lyle, Ivy, Macy, Mason and Finn; sister Kathy Jenkins; and many other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Jenkins; grandson, Jack Jenkins; siblings, Bill, Eloise and Doug; and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Jenkins will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 17th at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E. Division Street in River Falls, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass at the church. A private family burial will be held. Memorials honoring Ed Jenkins may be directed to St. Bridget's Catholic Church, or to American Legion Post 121 in River Falls. Services have been entrusted to the O'Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of River Falls, WI. 715-425-5644
