Parking permits needed for some streets near UWRF
The city of River Falls Residential Parking law goes into effect Sept. 1 and last through May 31 for Zones A and B.
Zones A and B will be enforced from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.
These two zones – north of East Cascade Avenue -- require parking permits. There is no fee for the initial permit – replacement permits are $50, transfers are $10.
Zone C in the Residential Parking Zone is in effect year round during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

To save time in obtaining your permit at the Police Department, print the form from the website and fill it out before coming in.
Permits will be issued at the police station, 125 East Elm St., beginning Thursday, Aug. 21, from 2-4 p.m.; Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon; August 27, from 10 a.m. to noon; and Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
After the initial issuance of permits, the regular schedule will be as follows: 2-4 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.
For those unable to obtain a permit during designated times, call the Police Department at 425-0909 to make an appointment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
