Robertson out as Prescott City Administrator

PRESCOTT - The Prescott City Administrator position is vacant again.

In a release dated Dec. 7, Mayor Mark Huber stated the City and Mike Robertson have mutually agreed to end his employment, with his final day being Dec. 6.

"This decision was made in a Special City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 4th, as only the full Council is authorized to make decisions like this, based upon recommendations from a Standing Committee and the Mayor," Huber said.

In the interim, Clerk Jayne Brand will take over the Administrator duties. Huber said it is too early whether or not the City will repost and fill the position, until the committees can study the best future staffing plans at City Hall.

"I want to thank Jayne and the City Hall department heads for their understanding, flexibility and assistance as we work our way through this time of adjustment and realignment," Huber concluded.

Robertson came to Prescott in June with over 20-plus years of experience as a city administrator in Minnesota.

"Prescott is a beautiful city with a gorgeous downtown," he said, in an earlier Herald interview. "It is very strong financially since it has a high bond rating for a city of its size. It also has a good relationship with the surrounding communities."
