Local couple to wed fair-ytale style

Scott Komorouski and Heidi Foster got married at the Minnesota State Fair.

Heidi Foster and Scott Komorouski of River Falls say their "I dos" 3-4 p.m. next Friday (Aug. 28) in a unique ceremony during the Minnesota State Fair. The couple will take their vows during a live broadcast of the show Twin Cities Live, just three weeks after learning they'd won an $18,000 fairytale wedding package.

Judges picked their winning application from a stack of 200.

Theirs will be the only wedding taking place at the fair this year, according to the TV station KSTP (5 Eyewitness News). As far as Foster and Komorouski know, it's the first time a couple has wed during a live TV broadcast from the fair. It's also the first time the one-year-old TCL show has held the contest.

As the beaming couple approaches the big day, they describe a whirlwind two weeks of dress and tux shopping, cake tasting and lots of meetings with their wedding planner. The only thing left to do they say, is taking dance lessons.

With broad smiles they describe how he learned of the win before she did, then was able to buy the ring and propose to her on the Aug. 7 TCL show in front of a live audience.

Foster and Komorouski invite everyone to share in their day by watching the broadcast or joining them live at the fair for the fantasy affair, which is courtesy of the station, Bellagala, Wedding Day Diamonds, Pearls & Lace Bridal and Formalwear, Men's Wearhouse and the Hotel Ivy.

The Aug. 27 print edition of the River Falls Journal will include more details of their story.
