Town says residential pools don't need fences
Should Clifton town residents with swimming pools have to fence them in as a safety precaution? The Town Board said no, not necessary, at it's Oct. 4 regular meeting.
The pool fencing topic has been discussed before and rejected.
Town Board Supervisor Greg Eggers called the issue "a lead balloon."
Eggers said he really doesn't see any need for pool fencing because the town's lot sizes are so large and, for the most part, spread far apart.
He said it might be worth considering if it ever came to the point where the lot sizes got smaller and closer together.
